A close-up shows how the harpsichord fits into its walnut stand. The weight of the instrument (heaviest at the keyboard end, of course) keeps it stable. Castors of 3.5" allow it to roll onto carpet, and brass brackets connect the base of the verticulator to the carriage that is connected to the bottom of the harpsichord, and that swivels on a brass tube.
